Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish, MT. at 6:30PM Thursday, July 9th.
Minutes from June
Betty Jo Malone is getting plenty of use out of her new camera. Every meeting she brings us more great shots. Her June contribution included really nice photos of Buffalo. The Bison Range was a popular destination as we saw several people shooting Buffs. Betty Jo, as we all know is not only a fine photographer but also she is very crafty. She brought pictures of her craft booth at the Saturday Farmers Market in Kalispell, Nice work.
Steve Mitchell stayed close to the water and showed us whitewater Kayaking, Polson boat races and a dog playing stick. He must have followed B.J. to the Bison range because he too found a couple really nice Buffalo Bulls to photograph.
Dani whose work is always great, if not a bit infrequent, had wild life in mind also, she did some really nice Coyote, and Polar Bear pictures.
We saw some beautiful sunsets shots of Mcguiniger Slew from the lens of Dave Carlson.
Doug Dye got real busy and captured real cowboys rounding up and branding calves, then landscapes, then Blue Grouse, and all were excellent.
Doug and Nick were joined at the hip at least one day because Nick had some of the same cowboys branding the same calves. He also gets the award for traveling a really long distance to bring us great photos. We got a great tour of the Civil War battlefields, and pictures of some of the cool old canons with which the war was fought. Nice work.
Ginna Short gets the, I traveled the farthest award, and she really got some outstanding photography to show for it. Iguanas, Hummingbirds, Dragonflies, and Spiders were among her subjects. Real good stuff, thanks Ginna.
Rex Short has been experimenting with photography he calls pop art. He has produced some of the most exceptional images I have ever seen. Even Rex does not know how good these images can be, he needs to shoot more of them in subdued flat light.
John Martineau was up in the Park chasing Harlequins and he got a bunch of nice shots. He has more pictures of those really pretty ducks than I have ever seen Harlequins.
Lyle Olson who is always one of my favorite photographers Brought us some twin fawns, some nice B/W stuff and a real pretty girl. I'm not sure where you find pretty girls to pose for you but if anyone ever gets an extra, send her my way. PLEASE
Dee Blank is a pretty girl who has never posed for me and I suspect it is because she is so good behind the camera she has not had to stand in front of one.
Regardless of my bad luck finding girls, Dee had good luck finding great pictures to take. She did some wonderful Pasque flowers, Forget-me-nots, Larkspur, then on to some nice cloud photos. Next were some intriguing photos of a Mountain Lion that could send a chill up your spine. My favorites were some real nifty cars. They were not, however, old cars because I can remember when they were new.
All in all we enjoyed some awfully nice photography.
