Big News

Our Computer fund has $560.00
Not enough yet, but we are for sure heading in the right direction. Five people have donated $100.00 and we have three twenties. We need a couple more big kind of donations and a bunch more of the smaller variety. Both Jesse and I will be happy to accept your money on behalf of the Club. Please help your club with this project. The club owns it's own digital projector and having a computer to run it will eliminate the need for our members to bring their personal computers to the meetings. It would also mean that we could leave the images on the computer for future reference. Our club does not have dues and we have little need for a treasury. If we can collect a couple hundred more bucks through donations we should not need more money for a long time.

Minutes from December

We had about 25 very lucky people present at the December meeting. Santa made an early stop and left a whole slay full of nice gifts for our members. We all went home with big smiles and a cool gift.

Show and tell was really good again as usual. Unfortunately my notes are not.

I made a note about Chris Peterson's book and I'm not sure why, but he does have a new book out and it is excellent as are all of his books and photographs. It will be a nice addition to anybody's library.

Frank brought some really nice snow ghosts and winter pictures while Becca entertained us with her usual spectacular scenes from Glacier.

Steve filled our meeting with some real Christmas spirit and some very nice photos of Christmas decorations. I often wonder if Steve and Becca travel in different cars.

D would have to be my favorite photographer. She really did some nice winter photography. I especially like the frost on her windows. Nice work D.

We don't want to miss a chance to travel. Our winters can be long and grey so when we can go with Doug, James and Jane to some fun and pretty places we gladly do it. Doug visited Hurst Castle for us while James took us to Oregon and Jane brought home some great shots from Canada. I was impressed with how well composed Jane's stuff was.

It is a tough call for one photographer to comment on the way other people compose their shots. We all do it differently and we all love our own work. Jane does it the way I wish I could so therefore I love her beautifully composed photography.

Larry Stolte did some fantastic pictures of trucks, goats and barns and Larry Dears was not to be out Larry'd so he photographed Lady bugs, hummingbirds, rattle snakes and a real nice ram.

Will Brunz spent some time horsing around and really got some pretty shots. One of his horse pictures was as nice as any I have ever seen.

Our club is truly blessed with some outstanding photographers. One of the best isn't inclined to show off for us. My friend Gary has done some of the best landscapes any of us have ever seen. He truly does have a natural instinct for composing his shots. Every time Gary shows me one of his nifty pictures I always think to myself "why can't I do that". You either have to know what you are doing or be awful lucky. I'm beginning to think he knows what he is doing. It is because of the wonderful photographers like Gary that I enjoy our club so much. It is the only club whose meetings I really look forward to attending.

B&W

Not too many of us are interested in B&W photography. Thank God at least one of us is still experimenting with Black and White using the latest available technology. Joel Templeton brought some interesting ink jet B&W prints that he made on an ink jet printer converted to be used exclusively for printing B&W. I will try to get him to give us a program on his latest discoveries in B&W printing.

Camera Club Web Site

We are still asking for more members to contribute to the Club Web site. It is fun and inexpensive. We have 13 members who have contributed and it is looking good. Lyle Olson is the new kid and he has some excellent and entertaining photography posted. Look at the site, you will love it.

Ask Adele for details. adele@digisys.net

Buffalo Hills Terrace

We still need more volunteers for the Monthly Buffalo Terrace Photo show. Please help; this is the only contact with the outside for many of these people and they really do appreciate our efforts. It's fun and easy so please contact me for more details.
