GLACIER CAMERA CLUB

Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish, MT. at 6:30PM Thursday, January 13th 2005.

Christmas Party
Our annual Christmas party was once again a roaring success. Many members received valuable and useful gifts to further their ability to make great and wonderful pictures. The gift exchange was followed by some great projected digital images, which as always were educational and entertaining.

Meeting Night and Place
There has been no further discussion about changing our meeting night or place. The last information I know is that we will be alone in the room for the Jan. meeting, and that they hope to resolve the problem before Feb.

One new thing they are doing at the Pin & Cue is adding a 15% gratuity to your bill. This is a new policy for any party of 6 or more.

Web Site
The Glacier Camera Club web site has gotten its first customer. Adele and Jeff have posted their stuff on it. It is not posted in the manner I had envisioned so we will make some changes but it is not far off. By checking it out you will get a good idea how your pictures will be presented. December had the largest number of hits yet with over 9400, so we are being exposed. In spite of club members not showing a lot of enthusiasm Iım convinced that this will become a popular site for showing your work. The domain names that reach this site are:
artinmontana.com,
montanaphotography.com,
glacierparkphotography.com,
glaciercameraclub.com

There have been a couple questions on what subject matter would be appropriate for this site. Based solely on the domain names, it seems to me like any photo taken in Montana should be fair game.

I am slowly finding links to other popular sites, which should further enhance the number of viewers who visit us.

Gallery Opening
Still no grand opening in sight, but the room is ready. As soon as I get a few spare minutes and a couple helpers I will hang the photos and turn on the lights. I have no idea what to expect as far as visitations or possible sales, but if we can get interior designers involved it might be a rewarding experience. So far the gallery is a hobby with no expectations for a fabulous generation of great wealth.

We still need a name. So far the suggestions are fairly mundane. "The Gallery" or "The Main Street Gallery"

I could definitely use some help with a name.

NEWS FROM BRUCE
Bruce says to allow extra time for the liquid crystal display in your camera to wake up when it gets cold. I say if it gets that cold get inside a warm house with a cool drink.

News from Jeanne
Jeanne Tallman one of my all time favorite people has once again shown us that only her good nature and friendly smile exceed her talent as a writer and photographer. Both her writing and photography is published in the current issue of Montana Living magazine.

Photo show coming soon to the Central School Museum
Curt Markus, a Whitefish native and really fine photographer, will open a show at the Central School Museum in Kalispell this March. I will ask Jesse to give a report on the show.
