Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish, MT. at 6:30PM Thursday, November 10th 2005. We will have a program. Rosella Mosteller is going to bring some matting material and will show us some of her matting tricks.

BIG NEWS
If any of you missed the really nice article featuring D Blank in the Sunday addition of the Daily Interlake you need to dig through your garbage, find it and read it. The Interlake finally figured out what we have known for years. D Blank is an excellent photographer who loves the outdoors. Her pictures are as good as her dedication and enthusiasm. Nice work D.

PROGRAM
Rosella will give us a program about matting prints for framing. She will bring some matting material and a great deal of expertise to the meeting. If any of you wish to learn more than you can in 30 minutes please feel free to bring some of your own material and Rosella will help you after the show and tell.

October
October was one of the best meetings ever. We had 28 members present and everyone seemed to be enjoying the evening. The show and tell portion of was outstanding. Not only a lot of pictures crossed the screen but the quality was definitely tops.

PROGRAM
Mike Spence gave us a very interesting and informative program on dry mounting photographs to board. It is a simple process when you do it correctly and a bit of a hassle if you don't. I learned several new tricks and I'm sure everyone else did as well. He pointed out the equipment can be bought at reasonable prices but is a bit bulky for most homes especially if you are not doing a lot of your own prints.

Bruce Harris did a program of his and Marilyn's trip across England. What an outstanding adventure. They hiked most of the 150 miles and took a bus and a ferryboat for a short portion. They enjoyed good weather most of the time and noted that English cuisine has improved vastly from the days of porage and warm beer. The trip was well planned with just enough walking to work up an appetite and a B&B instead of a tent for their nightly accommodations. The English countryside and small towns along the way were beautiful and very well photographed. Thanks for taking us on an armchair journey par excelance.

PEOPLE WE WILL MISS
The Peterson's left for Lafayette a few days before the meeting and Bruce and Marilyn were on their way to Berkeley soon after our meeting so we won't see them for six more months. We wish them well and look forward to their return next spring.

MINUTES FROM THE OCTOBER MEETING
We enjoyed an especially nice collection of slides in October. No doubt the most entertaining photography we have seen in a long time. Billy Younck brought some wonderful pictures of Western Europe where the houses are tall and old and the streets narrow. It looked like a nightmare trying to get around and it makes me wonder why Bond needed a Lamborghini.

The houses built on the cliffs were my favorites. I'm guessing that I couldn't afford one.

As always the crowd favorites were Jeff and Adele's Helli shots of the Middle Fork, Teakettle and Lawrence Park. For the animal lovers amongst us Steve made some nifty dog pictures and Becca shot some cars.

Jane T photographed the Park and some wonderful flowers while Bruce also was in the Park and still squeezed in some time for some really cool R C airplane pictures.

Faith made some beautiful Butterfly and Flower pictures while Bob traveled to Arizona and the Southfork.

John M did some outstanding pictures of the Badlands of South Dakota including Mt. Rushmore.

When I wait till the last second to do this letter I can never make sense out of my notes. I hope I didn't miss anything life threatening.
