Our Computer fund has $100.00
Not enough yet, but no worry if it is a good idea it won’t take long if not I know to whom I should return the money.
When Al Thompson, our leader, started this club a really long time ago he decreed that we would have only one leader, no dues, and no business meetings. Al is still the boss.
I really think it would be cool to have our own computer to go with our own projector. We have several members who understand computers and all of them say that our fundraising goal should be around $800.00 to $900.00. This seems doable to me. It would be about $30.00 apiece average.
So far we have three members who have contributed $100.00. $20.00, $20.00, and $60.00
If we all contribute something and a few of us step up in the $60.00 to a $100.00 range, nobody will be hurt and we will have our very own computer.
Mack the owner of the Pin & Cue has offered a corner of our meeting room for us to put a two drawer filling cabinet. This was kind of him, and it would be a convenient place for us to store our projection equipment.
We all enjoy this club because of the very talented people with whom we exchange ideas on a monthly basis and because we have such congenial low key meetings.
I am convinced that it is the worlds greatest club and that we are the worlds greatest people and it should not be that hard to raise enough money through donations to buy a new computer. Dues seem to me like a bit of a hassle.
Minutes from October
Nick really gave us an entertaining and a motivating program. His outstanding work and his great knowledge of the subject matter is sure to inspire the rest of us on to bigger and better things.
The fact that he is soon to be a TV star only enhances his standing in our club. Thank you Nick for a real nice program.
Becca and Steve continue their good work as well. I would hate to have to pay their gas bill, they go to some far off land every month. In October they photographed Elk in Waterton and beautiful Aspens on the East side. There best contribution came by way of the most interesting cloud formations I have ever seen. Even photoshop wiz kids like them could not have made those really wonderful clouds in their computers. Nice work.
Dan Taylor did some real nice landscapes of Great Northern Mt. and some wonderful macros of absolutely stunning Orchids. A big wow for Dan.
Easily my favorite photographer this month was Doug Dye. He treated us to some of the most georgeous Fall color shots I have ever. Stunning close-ups of leaves and perfect waterfalls, great color saturation, just all around great photography.
Nice going Doug.!
Jeff & Adele showed us some nice shots of Trick Falls and the Rolling Stones, while Jane traveled to Banf and St. Mary. Jane brought us some fine pictures of the frozen wasteland North of the boarder. Anybody who travels to a Third World country just to entertain us really deserves a huge ataboy from those of us who have never lost their mittins in Canada.
Lyle stretched our imagination by bringing some cool people pictures of a play. We don’t have many opportunities to see how well cameras work indoors. Great work thanks Lyle.
Rex Short got to the East side also. He did some fine work at Many, Grinnel. Waterton and not to be outdone he too photgraphed some nifty waterfalls.
News From Rosella
Hi Ed,
Thought you may want to add this to the newsletter.
From my limited experience I have noticed a difference in the world at large and smaller communities when it comes to lingo used in the same industry. For example, as it pertains to photography, SAIC uses the term "light room" when one prints photos from a computer in contrast to "dark room" which is used for developing film in the traditional method. Another term which I recently saw defined in print is "print media" a term defined as artwork produced by digital means. These are two examples which I have spent little research to verify from more than one source. I personally think it wise to verify info from at least two other sources. I did find print media on the web, however the specific reference mentioned nothing about digital photography.
My suggestion is if anyone or ones in photography club were interested they could add their input with regards to this subject.

We are still asking for more members to contribute to the Club Web site. It is fun and inexpensive. Ask Adele for details.
