GLACIER CAMERA CLUB

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish, MT. At 6:30PM Thursday, March 9, 2006. Chuck Haney will give a program.

Minutes from March

D served as acting secretary for the March meeting and we have some pretty good notes.

Jeff and Adele did some altitude adjustments for us with some really nice photos of Lost Coon Lake, Flathead Lake and some excellent parade pictures.

Bruce spent some digits shooting Owls at Pablo. He really got some nice pictures. You guys with the big lenses need to follow him around.

The Traveling man (Joe) went to the dogs this month. He also spent some time in the Park. Nice work Joe.

Jane is my favorite photographer this month. She even out did Joe with her travels. She went to Banff, Lake Louise and the Columbia Ice fields. They never looked that good on my infrequent trips to the land of the Mounties. Jane, next time you get up North take a picture of one of those red-coated fellows. I have some new darts.

One thing for sure about our club, what we lack in organization we sure make up for in the quality of our members photography.

Camera Club Web Site

While you are here please look at Jane's pictures. She is the latest addition to the web site and really has got some fine work.

There are some new things posted on the Montana, Arizona and in the Lacy section of the 344 Gallery. Well worth the stop.

The 344 Gallery

Please stop in the Gallery, Mike Spence has a very nice display of his work. Next will be an excellent production of William Brooks work. William is a fashion photographer from New York and Bigfork. Right after him probably in July Douglas Dye will take over as the featured photographer. Nothing scheduled to follow Doug so get your name in the hat. If you are interested please talk to me at the meeting.

Trevon Baker

We are on for the Photoshop class with Trevon Baker. He has picked April 15th for the class. This is not a fixed date. If most of you would prefer a weekday we can reschedule. I have asked for a show of hands for those of you who are interested, but now it's real. Please confirm your interest with an email and a different date if the 15th of April will not work for you. The total for the class is $350.00, which will be divided among the participants. I believe we have 8 or 9 for sure. This is a one day all day class. Place and time to be announced.

Dear Camera Club folks,

I have a film scanner that is looking for a home. It can do medium format, 35 mm, APS, transparencies and negatives. Though it is an older model, it was a high end professional model, and compares with some that are on the market now. I replaced it with a new one because I thought it was behind the times, but I am surprised at how little difference the new one makes.

Dimage Scan Multi
2820 dpi resolution (small formats), 1128 dpi (medium- format), 12-bit digitization, 3.6 Dmax
