Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish, MT. at 6:30PM Thursday, April 14th, 2011.
Minutes from August by Adele Scholl. I am sorry that Jeff and I missed camera club last month. I was able to copy the images from the laptop. So please forgive me if I have names incorrect or no names. We will try to recdify this at the next meeting.
| Carlos show some very nice pictures. He presented some great sunset shots, wild life shots, roller derby shots and a few other action shots. My favorites were his sunset shots. I always enjoy when a picture captures the true feelings of a sunset. This shot to the right does just that. The sun rays seem to be coming from an eye. Warming the earth. |
| The next round of pictures were also very nice. I am sorry that I do not have a name associated with them. They showed some fall shots in the park, some close and personal grizzly shots, and a shot or two from Banff. I really enjoyed this twilight shot of a lake in Banff. Don't quote me on that, this is my assumption. |
| Jane presented some photos also from the park and from Banff. She showed some nice flower shots, with rain drops. A mirrored look at the opposite end of Lake McDonald, and some waterfall shots. She even showed a little video. I chose her shot from canada, different light similar angle as the shot above. Both very nice. I have to see this lake in person. | ![]() |
| Jim Flinchbaugh had some nice shots of ice fishing, water dops, imature blad eagle, and some really neat cloud formations. I really enjoyed the shot of the cloud formations. Again capture the feeling of the moment. | ![]() |
| Kevin showed some fun images from the bar stool races, roller derby, a few scenics, and some band shots. I enjoyed his progression shots from the starting line at the bar stool races of one of the competitors getting a push. |
| As other members have captured the moments and feelings of sunsets, Lyle is the master of capturing people and their expressions. He presented some images from a pow wow, and a few shots from yellowstone. I really enjoyed the pow wow shots. This one captures the spirit of the Native Americans. |
| Myrna is great at capturing the essence of wild life expressions. She photographed a family of big horn sheep. Capturing some really great expressions from a male that has a mag pie land on his back. He seems to be quite happy with the arrangement. Perhaps the mag pie is helping scratch his back, or more likely eating some bugs off of him. Great sequence of shots. | ![]() |
| Nick is a master at all types of photography. Looks like Nick went on a trip to somewhere warmer then here. Showing the club a look into some unique and colorful birds and animals. Again this is a guess that we traveled to Costa Rica. Capturing seaguls, sloths, frogs and more. My favorite shot is of a wave crashing below a pelican. Great composure and placement. | ![]() |
| Pat continued the show with some really nice shots from the park, Grand Canyon overlook and Bannack. Although I have never been to Bannack, again this is an assumption. None the less I enjoyed Pat's pictures. My favorite shot of his was the shots of him in the barber chair in Bannack. Ready for a cut and a shave. Cute shots. |
| Steve showed the club some neat scenic shots and some fun effects he created in Photoshop, with his dog as the star. I am a sucker for cute dog shots. He has many of those. From his dog running in the snow with a coat and boots on to his dog photoshoped into a new background. I want to know how he gets his dog booties to stay on. My dogs always act like they are dieing and kick them right off. They would rather have huge snow balls in their toes then wear the boots. I really enjoyed this motion blur shot of a barn. |
| Sue Widdle finished off the show with some outstanding shots. She showed the club eagles fighting, great close up wild life shots, of bears, goats and more, formula 52 race cars, and a look into the Grand Canyon from the South Rimm. I really enjoyed this colorful sunset/sunrise shot of the canyon. This time of year I long to travel down to the dessert and visit the canyon. Thanks for a look into it. | ![]() |
