GLACIER CAMERA CLUB

Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish MT. at 6:30PM Thursday, April 14th 2005. There will be no program and we will show 35mm slides before digital. We will try to alternate between showing slides and digital files first.

Shawn's program
Shawn, thanks for the great program.
We all had a special treat and learned a lot about Photo Shop. Programs like this are always entertaining and useful. If any of you would like to give a program or know of someone who would please let me know.

Field Trip
Mike Spence called me a few days ago and suggested that we go on a field trip. We have done this before and everyone who went enjoyed the outing. Spring is usually the best time for trips, and guess what, its Spring. If you have an idea for a field trip, please bring it up at the April meeting.

PROJECTOR
We may have good news about a computer with which to run the projector. Shawn is checking out a way to do it at a rather inexpensive price.

Gallery Opening
Even though I did not call this an official Gallery opening it was well attended and we had many nice comments. It is still not in it's finished state but is slowly coming together. I hope to get some captions, prices and Bio's up soon. We are having some trouble keeping the pictures hanging. The stick on hangers do not work well in some circumstances. The metal clips hold better.

BANK SHOW SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. Because of liability, banks have requested no glass, plexi-glass, or frames. Shrink wrapping is optional. (If you are selling your photo, you might want to consider shrink wrapping to protect it from fingerprints, etc.)
2. No submissions smaller than 8 x 10 (not including a mat). Matting is a personal choice. (Last yearıs shows had photos mounted on foam core without a mat, photos dry mounted on matboard, & photos with single & double window mats.)
3. No submissions larger than 20 x 24 (including a mat). Submissions larger than 20 x 24 are difficult to transport.
4. Limit of 2 submissions per member. Some banks have small lobbies, so there may be times when we will be limited to 1 submission per member.

Submissions are due at the May meeting and will be returned at the October meeting.

Banks donıt assume responsibility for lost or damaged photos.

**Landscape and wildlife photos from Northwest Montana are the most popular.

From Jane
Hi. Well, it isn't a BIG deal, but I did sell a photo to Big Sky Magic postcards for the pocket calendar they put out for 2006. I figure it's better than a poke in the eye, right???

Isn't Dee's book coming out pretty soon? Now that's BIG stuff !!!! :)

Jane Timmerman
Editors note: I think it's a big deal, that's why we live, so other people can enjoy our work.

PS, I just talked with Bruce the 35mm projector guy. We will show 35mm slides first in April. CDs first in May.
