Minutes from April by Adele Scholl

Steven & Becca Rapelje, we were thinking of you at camera club. We miss you guys and hope you are well. Would love to see some of your pictures.

What an incredible show last meeting. Thanks to everyone for bringing your pictures. We started off the meeting, by traveling to Baja, with Jerry and Rhona Meisilik. All I can say is wow. Petting whales, boating with dolphins, walking through the desert of Baja, were just some of the things they did on their vacation. Jerry and Rhona showed us the reason Baja is known for it's beautiful sunsets. My favorite shot was hard to select, from both of them. Jerry's shot looking down the tail fin of a whale, was my favorite from his images. Point of view shot. Rhona started off her show of interest patterns in the sand dunes, following up with a dolphin jumping right at the camera. My favorite shot of Rhona's was of a grasshopper camoflagued on a catcus.

Betty Jo showed us some photos from her yard. She presented some images of their resident squirrel, birds and flowers. My favorite of Betty Jo's is the shot of her resident squirrel. Nice pics Betty Jo, your flowers are beautiful.

Bruce continued the show, with very nice shots from the Flathead River. He showed us shots of tree stumps, that had a lot of personality. One stump apears to be walking on it's toes. He also showed us a shot from the air of Somers Bay, and a meadow lark. My favorite shot of Bruce's is one of a large and small stump, with a nice reflection, mama and baby.

Jeff & I showed our images from the Grand Canyon, starting with our group shot at the put in. 16 people would take the same journey that Powell and many before us have taken. Our gear has been upgraded since, they traveled down the waters. This year was different, from last. Knowning what to expect somehow eases the fears of what is around the next corner. Or what Hance, Crystal, or Lava Falls look like. My favorite shot of our was a night time shot of Nankoweap Granies.

Jane showed the club some nice winter shots of Glacier, Yellowstone, Woodland Park. She had nice wildlife shots from Yellowstone, of coyotes, bison, elk and much more. My favorite shot of hers was the series of the baby geese trying to get under their mom's wing.

John rode his bike to the loop on Going to the Sun Highway. He brought great shots of the park, avalanches paths on Heaven's Peak, the large avalanche that went from the top of the road to the bottom, as well as people biking up. My favorite shots of John's was of Heaven's Peak.

Nick spent the morning with some Harlequin Ducks on McDonald Creek. He also showed the club some great shots of flowers, turtles, birds. I loved the way he framed some of his flower shots, he continues to show the club his talent. My favorite shot of Nick's is of the Harlequin Duck in flight.

Steven Mitchell had some really nice pictures from Oregon, Bigfork's Wild Mile Rescue training. I am sorry that I made a mistake with Steve's shots and did not have his complete set of pics, loaded on the computer. The ones we did see were impressive. My favorite shot of his was of the NRS glove trying to grab a stump in the river.
