GLACIER CAMERA CLUB

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be at the Pin & Cue Bowling Alley in Whitefish, MT. at 6:30PM Thursday, July 12th. Jim Peterson will present our program.

Minutes from June

This time I really mean it; our June show and tell was the best ever. Never have I seen so many great photographs with such variety in one place in my whole entire life. Even as good as they were we did not have some of the most interesting photographers represented. Myrna Fleming and my pal Gary both do work as nice as any on earth. I can only imagine what the show would have been like if they had brought some slides. Others who are conspicuous by there absence are Frank Vestey, Shawn Coggins, Bob and Faith Howard. We might need an old-timers day to get them back in the fold.

All told the quality of the photography in our club is without equal.

Bruce Ruby is one of the few people in our club who has all the right stuff to take pictures of the night sky. His full moon shots are better than the real moon. Bruce, thanks for your enlightenment.

I can't imagine a meeting without Steve and Becca Rapelje. Their great photography is exceeded only by their willingness to please, their smiling faces and their pleasant disposition. Even after spending hours keeping the Foxes out of the Bunny patch they still had time to travel. Thanks for the nice shots of Silver Stairs.

D Blank did some wonderful flower shots and some great landscapes. I get that kind of quality photographs only in my dreams. Larry Stolte also did some really nice landscapes and water falls.

Nick Fuci stayed a little closer to home and came up with Lilly's, Kayakers and some nifty bird shots.

Rex and Gina Short are easily my favorite photographers this month. Not only did they get about the highest picture to click ratio I have ever seen but they also traveled almost to the tip of South America to do it. Every shot they did was better than the one before and all were outstanding. Nice going Rex & Gina. By the way I am up for adoption, I'm through College, I have all my shots and I like to travel.

Rosella is holding up her end of the B&W photography in our club. She is doing some nice digital B&W. Steve Mitchell got some real nice kayak shots too. Well everybody had some really nice photographs.

Buffalo Hills Terrace

Jim Peterson is going to do double duty with his great programs. He will do a our July Camera Club program then skip over to Buffalo Hills and do one for those folks.

Steve Mitchell will do the August presentation at Buffalo Hills Terrace.

OTHER NEWS

The best news for now is that our picnic is scheduled for the 15th of July, at 3PM at Ed's house on Flathead Lake. The water will be warm enough for swimming so swim suits are considered proper attire. The lunch will be potluck with special emphasis on some dang good beans for me. Nancy will provide sodas and beer.

Do you provide a service that would be of interest to photographers? If you do let me know or you could write a paragraph explaining the service for the newsletter.

A good friend of mine is one of the best platinum printers on Earth. If any of you need some gorgeous Platinum Palladium prints let me know and I will give you his name and address.

The 344 Gallery

Nick Fucci will be at the gallery from 5PM until 8PM the first Friday of July showing his fine photos and serving some wine and crackers. All of us know what a superb photographer Nick is so why don't we bring our friends to the gallery and introduce them to Nick and his really nice photographs.

The Gallery schedule:
Nick Fucci July/August
Shawn Coggins September/October/November
John Kyle December/January/February
